Razzy Hammadi

Razzy Hammadi, born in Toulon on 22 February 1979, is a French politician, elected in 2012 as a deputy for the Socialist Party.〔(La diversité progresse dans l'Hémicycle ) , ''Le Monde'', 19 June 2012〕
Born in France of North African-born parents (Algerian Kabyle father, Tunisian mother),〔http://www.lecourrierdelatlas.com/275131052012France-Legislatives.-Razzy-Hammadi-candidat-PS-dans-la-7eme-circonscription-de-Seine-Saint-Denis.html〕 he is a former president of the Young Socialist Movement and a "rising figure in the party". He had finished first in Seine-Saint-Denis' 7th constituency at the French legislative election, 2012 with 36,71% of the vote, ahead of Left Front incumbent Jean-Pierre Brard, MP since 1988. Brard withdrew in his favour for the second round and, as no other candidate had made it to the second round, Hammadi was guaranteed to be elected. On the first round of local elections in Montreuil in April 2014, he gathered 9.8% of the votes and was not qualified for the second round.
